1. TRANSLATION – EDITING
Our office undertakes translation of documents, of all sorts of texts, articles, technical designs, scientific works, books, etc. from the Greek language into the Balkan languages (Romanian, Bulgarian, Albanian, Serbian, Croatian, Moldavian, Turkish, language spoken in the F.Y.R.O.M,), into rare languages (Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Georgian, Finnish, Hungarian, Dutch, Swedish, Urdu) and into the main European languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish) and vice versa.
Our office co-workers are experienced translators with excellent knowledge of the Greek language plus one or more Balkan or other European languages which is either their mother-tongue or they have a university degree in one of these languages.
The editing and correction of texts is done in cooperation with the specialists who have terminology expertise in economy, commerce, technology, medicine, law, etc. and are attracted to check the adequacy of translations and the proper use of terms. That stage is indispensable in order to make certain that translation is correct in all aspects. The editing and correction of texts/documents involves grammar, syntax and style check.
2. INTERPRETATION – LOCAL ADAPTATION
We render interpretation services in the above-mentioned languages, simultaneous (in a boot) or consecutive interpretation at conferences, at summit meetings of politicians, meetings of businessmen, of the legal entities’ representatives from the public or private sector, meetings of natural persons with all kind of state authorities, “round table” discussions, public and cultural events.
In many cases professional translation is necessary so as to adequately convey a message from one culture into another, one mentality or reality into another. Especially when in comes to bilateral political relations or new markets. We get in touch with the clients who, in addition to speaking different languages, have dissimilar habits and customs, different mentality and perception of phenomena.
Nowadays, the majority of us speak at least one foreign language in addition to our mother-tongue. Nevertheless, when it comes to a conversation in a foreign language, people often tend to express only the things which they can say correctly, leaving out the thoughts they would really like to convey to interlocutors.
We render Interpretation services either in Greece or abroad.
3. VOICING AND DUBBING
In cooperation with the advertising companies and producers of radio and TV advertisements, films, we undertake the voicing and dubbing in varied foreign languages. In order to achieve the desired result (correct pronunciation, grammar and syntax) the voicing and dubbing is done by native speakers.
The adequacy of translation of the advertisements intended for the foreigners who live in Greece and for the companies doing business abroad often depends on the way the message is conveyed so as to be comprehensible to people with different mentality and specific perception of things.
4. PRIVATE LESSONS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES
We organize brief courses for the learners of the Balkan languages (Albanian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Serbian, Slovenian, Russian, etc.) and for the managerial staff who are working in the Balkan countries. Classes can be held in the client’s office as well.
